Dom Perignon is probably the world's most famous Champagne, and the '88 is an outstanding example of how beautiful this wine can be. Its notes are pure, like a brilliant diamond, and the nose is very fine. Toast, coffee beans, and fresh orangey fruit come to mind. The taste is also brilliant with clear, sharp, uplifting aromas of fruit and nuts. An ultra-sophisticated, rather light Dom Perignon.

Beautiful. Offers great toasty, earthy aromas, lively but mellow fruit flavors and a lingering finish. Seems suave and sophisticated, even better than when reviewed earlier. Tempting now, but should improve.

Very tangerine in colour. Deep, heady apricot note, with merest whiff of brioche, still good beading in the glass. Palte, rich, weighty, yet very citrus, VERY similar to '88 Grande Damme tasted 2 years earlier with Greg n Liz
