Dark crimson with a pale rim. Lustrous crimson. Very mineral nose – almost sucky stony and then lashings of rather charming fruit on the palate. Very serious, non-tricksy wine. Lots of palate impact especially on the finish. Very clean finish. Dry end but wonderful pure fruit before then. Talk about classic...

Big, ripe and generous, with excellent harmony of flavor, hinting at cedar, hazelnut and vanilla against a solid backdrop of blackberry and currant. Beautifully proportioned, with fine tannins and gorgeous notes. A real standout in this vintage. 30,000 cases made.

A bottle that had similar traits to those that went before. Definately in need of drinking and I will do my best!! Still Excellent.

The bouquet is musty yet clean...that's the mint...?go figure. Fruity yet spicy with cumin and coriander. On the palate well structured with forward tannins, only slightly overwhelming for the dark fruit with spicy and peppery undertones. Good acidity with a relatively long finish. Now that I've looked at my previous notes: Interesting how my appreciation for this bottle differs from that tasted in 2009. I make it a point not to look at my previous notes when I try a bottle I have evaluated before. The persistant qualities are a forward wine with definitive tannins, spicy overtones and a lot of backbone.
