(4.6 g/l total acidity; 12.7% alcohol): Dark red with a hint of garnet. A floral element lifts the very ripe aromas of kirsch and spicecake. Smooth, juicy, balanced and clean, with flavors of raspberry jam, graphite and tar exhibiting very good sweetness. Lively, balanced acidity confers precision and cut to this easygoing midweight. Finishes linear and long, with plenty of charm.

Soft garnet. Gently perfumed, even a touch of vanilla-sweet freshness. Gorgeous scent and the merest hint of development as it opens up. Elegant and juicy on the palate. Silky, dry tannins and scented with red fruit and a touch of cedar on the mid palate and a gentle dry grip on the finish. Very fine and self-contained but not hidden. Lovely balance. (JH)

Beautifully mature with sweet, sun-drenched black currant, fig, roasted herb and loamy soil characteristics, the dark plum/garnet-colored 1982 possesses opulent, fleshy flavors and a full-bodied finish. All the tannins are resolved, the acidity is low and this deliciously savory, rich wine is in full bloom. Drink the complex, beautiful 1982 now and over the next decade.

Extremely youthful ruby color, with a hint of garnet. Berry, currant and mint character, with an earth note. Full-bodied, extremely concentrated yet sweet and fruity, with fine tannins and a long, long finish. Inspirational; never considered classic by many people but it's very great indeed.--1982 Bordeaux horizontal.
