Although the 1982 L'Eglise-Clinet exhibited plenty of plump, ripe fruit, it was never one of the most compelling 1982s. The wine revealed more depth when tasted in December, 1995 than it did when I first tasted it from cask and following bottling. Rich, full-bodied, chunky, and monolithic, it provides a mouthful of juicy claret, but it tastes uncomplicated and simple. Last tasted 12/95
