Like many of Chave's wines, the 1982 has gotten deeper and richer in the bottle after starting life a little diffuse and awkward. Fully mature, it offers a rich, silky palate with gobs of fruit, and unmistakable aromas and flavors of jammy berries, smoked barbecue, tar, and saddle leather. This is one of the most delicious Chave Hermitages to drink.
