Last Tasted 12/91 The least flamboyant of Diamond Creek's trio of 1978 Cabernets, the Gravelly Meadow exhibits a pronounced earthy, tobacco, cedar, cassis-scented nose, and rich, full-bodied flavors that are nearly as concentrated as those in the Volcanic Hill and Red Rock Terrace. Like its brethren, it is a boldly flavored, dramatic wine that should continue to drink well for at least another 10-15 or more years.

Characteristically more earthy (or gravelly) than the other Diamond Creek Cabs, still showing plenty of richness and flavor, with earthy currant, mineral, herb, sage and spice notes. Aging well and appears to have the concentration to go another five to 10 years. Will it get better? Doubtful, but it should hold for those who want to wait.
