Drink Dates

Our group did a Tuscan tasting last evening with braised short ribs and beans. The 1990 Ornellaia was the wine of the evening and easily bested the 1994 as well as a couple of smaller producers from the excellent 1997 vintage, a 2002 Massetto and a 1996 Sassicaia. A very delicate wine with great nose, good balance of tannins and fruits, berries and a little licorice, good finish. Excellent wine that really worked well with the food.
