Very muted nose and flavors; exhibits classic Bordeaux qualities and hints at deep complexity, but lacks strength. Seems well beyond its prime in late 2008.

Black cherry, smoky, just about lost its fruit and a bit past its prime, astingit....perhaps a bad bottle, but you never know. I drank this along side of the 1979 Mouton which was far superior to this 1979 Lafite.
