Producer Notes
Château Cheval Blanc, a 1er Grand Cru Classé (A), is the most renowned and sought-after producer in the St. Emilion appellation of Bordeaux. The estate's 37 hectares yield primarily Cabernet Franc and Merlot, with small percentages of Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon. Beautiful garnet/ruby colouring. Powerful, yet complex nose. Opens with traditional Cabernet Franc perfumed floral aromas, herbs and sweet leafy black fruits. Yet after a while in the glass it reveals notes of spicy dried fruits and marzipan. Silky texture, soft, supple tannins and good acidity. Intense, slightly savoury blackcurrant fruit on the palate, tobacco and a long, long smoky finish. Fabulous
