The 2001 is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Purple/red hued wine with lots of thin moderately pigmented legs. A lightly perfumed nose of black truffle oil, some game, slight menthol, and sweet plum with a touch of cream and graham cracker. The subdued but still enjoyable nose gives way on the palate. Simply put, this wine is thin with more acidity and tannin then the meager fruit concentration can handle. A Bryant Family Cabernet Sauvignon in name only. This wine should never have been released under the "grand vin" label. Undoubtedly, the greatest disappointment of Napa Valley?s superlative 2001 vintage.
