Deep black cherry red with lots of thin legs showing trace amounts of color. A still developing bouquet of smoky plum, black cherry, earth, beginning signs of the telltale tar and roses, slight mint, sandalwood, leather, and clay. Relatively low acidity with still firm tannin (not objectionably so but more rustic in nature than other top flight GAJA wines). Fine levels of concentration. Needs another seven years and will last for a decade thereafter.
