Shipping advice
- Use Vinfolio Safe Shipping – Vinfolio will perform a weather check for the destination zip code prior to a domestic shipment. There is no additional cost for choosing this shipping method.
- Ship the fastest possible method, next day if possible: This ensures the minimum amount of transit time and exposure to adverse temperatures.
- Avoid weekends during transit: Select a combination of shipping speed and shipping date that will prevent your wine from sitting in a shipping depot over the weekend. Unlike Vinfolio’s warehouses, most carriers do not provide temperature-controlled storage.
- Ship as much wine together as possible: Shipping in quantity is not only more cost effective, but safer from a temperature standpoint. Multiple bottles provide a thermal “mass” that is less subject to variations in temperature.
- Ship to a business address: This ensures an adult is available to sign for your shipment on the first delivery attempt (and costs less than residential delivery).
- Ensure the presence of a receiver of legal age: All Vinfolio packages require a signature from someone who is 21 or older. Carriers will not deliver packages to under age persons and a failed delivery attempt will cause a delay in receipt and may introduce weather-related risk of damage.
- Contact the carrier: If your ability to receive the package on your original delivery day changes, contact the carrier as soon as possible to make alternate arrangements.
- Consider storage at Vinfolio's warehouse: If you live in an area that is routinely subject to adverse weather conditions, use our warehouse to store your wine. The first 6 months are free for wine purchased from us but afterwards, fees apply.
